Webinar Description:
It is critical that motor carriers operating under the International Registration Plan and the International Fuel Tax Agreement keep appropriate records of their operations.
States have active programs of audit for both IRP and IFTA, and a carrier that hasn’t maintained good records may be in for an expensive time of it when the auditor comes to call.
In this webinar, Bob Pitcher, ATA’s Vice President, State Laws, the primary industry spokesman to both IRP and IFTA, will lay out the record-keeping requirements for both the Plan and the Agreement.
Discussion Topics Include:
- The rules for both paper and electronically produced records
- The length of time records must be kept by IRP registrants and IFTA licensees
- The use a state makes of those records in an audit
- A caution for carriers who expect to use Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) to produce IRP and IFTA records
- Advice on how carriers may be able to avoid some potential audit trouble over inadequate records
A question and answer session will follow.
