Arlington, Virginia — Today, the American Trucking Associations unveiled the slate of speakers for the National Accounting and Finance Council’s 2019 Annual Conference, June 10-12, in Indianapolis, including Indiana Senator Mike Braun.
“The business environment for the trucking industry, while strong, continues to pose challenges for motor carriers, who need to remain abreast of the latest changes in tax laws, accounting trends, developments in the insurance market and other legal issues,” said NAFC Director Jennifer Wieroniey. “The NAFC Annual Meeting is the premier gathering for industry executives to gather and remain up to date on these issues, as well as learn about trends in technology, big data and more.”
This year’s meeting, which will be held at the Marriott Downtown in Indianapolis, will feature Sen. Braun (R-Ind.) discussing how he grew his family’s truck body manufacturing business into a parts, equipment and accessories distribution company. The event will also feature an executive panel featuring James Reed, president and CEO of USA Truck; Mike Kiely, managing director for US Government Affairs at UPS; and Jon Russell, president and COO of Celadon Group Inc.
Additionally, American Transportation Research Institute President Rebecca Brewster will discuss the increasing operational costs of trucking, ATA President and CEO Chris Spear will provide a Washington legislative and regulatory update and dozens of other eminent trucking experts will be featured in educational sessions on a variety of topics critical to trucking CFOs, controllers, risk managers and other industry professionals.
