ATA Recognizes ACT 1's Strong Support for Trucking Advocacy

Feb 28, 2018

Arlington, Virginia – Today, American Trucking Associations celebrated the Allied Committee for the Trucking Industry for their continued, strong support and investment in trucking advocacy, ATA meetings, and the association’s priorities.

“Simply put, our programs and events are made possible by ACT 1’s support, which has a direct impact on ATA’s success and, in turn, the success of the wider trucking industry,” said ATA President and CEO Chris Spear. “Each supplier that is involved in ACT 1 does a tremendous service to our industry and we could not be more thankful for their support as we look to grow our events and programs in 2018.”

The Allied Committee for the Trucking Industry is a group of leading industry suppliers dedicated to enhancing the business environment of the transportation industry. ACT 1’s stated mission of providing business leaders with the opportunity to exchange ideas, forge new relationships and build a stronger, more successful industry through networking and social events at the top national industry meetings matches well with ATA’s full slate of industry-leading meetings, conferences and exhibitions.

“ACT 1 has had a long, collaborative relationship with ATA in support of the trucking industry in North America,” said Amy Boerger, vice president of sales at Cummins Inc. “The relationship has only continued to be enriched with Chris Spear and his leadership team. The ACT 1 member companies are all dedicated to the success of the trucking industry.”

ACT 1 will again serve as a premier sponsor of ATA meetings including the ATA Technology & Maintenance Council’s Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition; the ATA Leadership Meeting; ATA’s Safety Management Council’s National Truck Driving Championships and National Step Van Driving Championships; National Truck Driver Appreciation Week; the 2018 ATA Management Conference & Exhibition; and the ATA Safety Management Council and Transportation Security Council Safety, Security & HR National Conference & Exhibition in 2018.

“ATA and ACT 1 share the common purpose of promoting trucking as a safe, sustainable, and efficient industry and we are fortunate that ACT 1 will continue to partner with ATA throughout the year,” said Spear. “We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Atlanta for the TMC Annual Meeting and work together with ACT 1 on ATA’s important 2018 meetings.”
