Webinar Description:
Earn CPE and Learn about Telematics as a risk management tool in this NAFC webinar.
The availability of telematics data from fleet vehicles has grown exponentially in recent years- there's now 25 times more data available from fleet vehicles than from all personal Usage Based Insurance programs combined. As a result, more and more trucking companies are being asked to share their driving data. Today's trucking companies excel at using telematics data to access Total Cost of Ownership, but few have integrated their exposure data into a financial model that can forecast Total Cost of Risk. Accessing telematics and ELD data adds to an underwriter's pricing precision for risk transfer. As a finance professional, you must understand what your benchmarks mean before they reach the underwriter. The first half of this webinar will provide an overview for benchmarking your fleet's risk profile with the purpose of creating a data driven, transparent alternative to underwriting judgment. The speakers will be providing a more in-depth discussion of this topic at NAFC's Annual Conference from June 10-12 in Indianapolis.
The second half of this webinar will provide a forum for the NAFC Risk Management Study Group to interact with the presenters and to learn from their peers. This will include a discussion of relevant topics of concern within risk management and sharing best practices to address problems. The NAFC Risk Management Study Group addresses a wide range of insurance, risk-management and business issues including workers' compensation, vehicular liability, physical damage, self-insurance, workplace safety and health, best practices and loss prevention.
About the Presenters:
Chris Carver, VP of Insurance Services, SpeedGauge, Inc.
Chris Carver has, for nearly 30 years, pursued a passion for applying technology to transportation risk management, from core telematics sensor development to winter road maintenance to vehicle dynamics and prognostics. The SpeedGauge Clearinghouse creates a fairer way to rate risk, road segment by road segment, using connected-vehicle data. Prior to joining Liberty, he co-founded and led FleetPoint, a web-based fleet risk management service focused on road data collection. Chris holds a Masters of Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.
