Brian K. McCarthy, Chief Executive Officer, Energi
Mr. McCarthy founded Energi, Inc. and Energi Insurances Services, Inc. in 2006 and currently serves as the President and CEO. Mr. McCarthy has led the Company on a significant growth trajectory from an industrial reinsurance entity and into a virtual insurance company with expansion across the U.S. and internationally. The Company has been recognized by Business Insurance Best Places to Work and the Boston Globe Top Places to Work. Beginning in 1983, Mr. McCarthy established his own independent insurance agency that led to the development of Conifer Companies in 2001. At Conifer, he gained expertise in captive program development and alternative risk management programs. Earlier in his career, Mr. McCarthy was the founder of an Internet-based insurance distribution company that developed the first online insurance application. He has served on several insurance association boards.
Justin P. Russo, Senior Vice President, Risk Management, eRisk Solutions
Mr. Russo has been with Energi Insurance Services, Inc., formerly Conifer Energy, since 2002 and has been instrumental in pioneering eLive Connect, which is an interactive customized risk management portal developed by Energi. As the leader of the Safety & Loss Prevention team, he has developed many risk management tools for fuel distribution, energy transportion, and energy construction programs that have minimized losses. Mr. Russo is an authorized OSHA Instructor and National Safety Council Trainer. In addition to training thousands of employees, he has been a guest speaker for industry associations such as Best Practices Group, New York Propane Gas Association, and Propane Gas Association of New England. Prior to joining Energi, he worked for a medical regulatory compliance company developing hazard communication and various safety programs for medical facilities. Mr. Russo is a graduate of Keene State College with a BS in Occupational Safety and Business Management. Recently, he participated in the Environmental Council of States (ECOS) State Environmental Protection: Hydraulic Fracturing in Focus conference and the Oil & Gas Drilling Symposium.
John Ferrante, Esq., General Counsel and Vice President Litigation Management
Mr. Ferrante is an honorably discharged Veteran of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and a graduate of Boston College and New England Law/Boston. He served in various legal capacities with the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Treasury Department (Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service), GTE Corporation (Verizon); Liberty Mutual Insurance Group and the Ferrante Law Office. He is admitted to practice before several state and federal courts.
